So far I have only tried this combination as a rinse in the shower. I'll mix equal parts catnip and sage in a coffee filter as if I were making a bottle of sun tea the day before I want to use it. Once I have enough of each (about a table spoon of each will make a bottle that will last about a week) I will seal off the open end of the coffee filter and drop the little pouch of herbs into a bottle of water that I then leave sitting in the sun for a full day. When the catnip and sage rinse has set, take it into the shower with you. Wash your hair as you normally would but this time before you get out pour some of your catnip/sage rinse onto your hair and allow it to just soak into your scalp for a couple minutes, as if you were conditioning your hair...In a way you are....Then rinse your hair one last time before getting out of the shower and styling as usual. The catnip/sage rinse will have a neat chilly but tingly effect but that is totally normal and actually much more soothing than it might sound. The aroma of the mix is wonderful too. Within the first use there will be a decrease amount of dandruff. I use the rinse every shower because I love the smell and have no problems what so ever with dandruff while using this rinse. Personally I make my rinse using both catnip and sage because I enjoy the scent so much but you can make this same rinse with just catnip or just sage and get the same dandruff eliminating effect.
